Progression

Successful learners can advance their careers by obtaining Qualified Teacher Learning and Skills (QTLS) status, equivalent to QTS in England, enabling them to work as qualified teachers in state schools. With QTLS, learners gain recognition equal to QTS holders in schools, and they can further specialise by pursuing a Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) after using the DET qualification as a strong foundation. This progression opens doors to fulfilling teaching roles and continued growth in education.

With QTLS in hand, learners can take their educational journey a step further by considering a Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE). This additional qualification builds upon the solid foundation provided by the DET and allows for specialization in specific areas of teaching and education. A PGCE can open doors to a wide range of fulfilling teaching roles and can lead to career growth and development in the field of education.

The journey from completing the TQUK Level 5 Diploma in Education and Training (DET) to attaining QTLS and, if desired, pursuing a PGCE, provides educators with a rich array of prospects for advancing in their careers and leaving a significant imprint on the education landscape.
